How does Microneedling work
A device with fine needles is passed across the skin, creating thousands of microscopic channels. The skin responds as it would to any minor injury, launching a repair process that lays down fresh collagen and elastin. As this new tissue matures over the following weeks, the skin becomes smoother and firmer, scars soften and pores appear refined. Because the effect is cumulative, a course of sessions produces the best results.
Controlled micro-injury is a powerful signal to the skin to rebuild itself:
- Wound-healing response — the micro-channels trigger the skin's natural repair cascade
- Collagen induction — fibroblasts are stimulated to produce new collagen and elastin
- Skin remodelling — over weeks the new collagen improves texture, firmness and scarring
- Product absorption — the temporary channels help serums penetrate more effectively

Patient Journey
What to expect

Consultation
Every treatment begins with a consultation. Your practitioner assesses your skin type and concerns, checks for any active acne or skin conditions, reviews your medical history and skincare routine, and agrees the number of sessions and any serums to be used before starting.

Preparation
- Stop retinoids and strong exfoliating acids for around five days before treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and do not attend with sunburnt skin
- Avoid other facial treatments in the days beforehand
- Arrive with clean skin, free of make-up
- Stay hydrated and avoid blood-thinning supplements for a few days where safe

Treatment
Your skin is first cleansed and a numbing cream is applied and left for around twenty to thirty minutes to keep the treatment comfortable. The microneedling device is then passed methodically across the treatment area in sections, sometimes with a serum applied to aid penetration. You may feel a light scratching or vibrating sensation. The treatment itself takes around twenty to thirty minutes, and the skin will look flushed, similar to mild sunburn, afterwards. A soothing product and aftercare guide are provided before you leave.

Downtime & Recovery
1–2 days

Aftercare
- Use only gentle, recommended products and avoid active ingredients for a few days
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily and avoid direct sun
- Avoid make-up for around 24 hours to let the skin recover
- Avoid exercise, saunas, swimming and heat for 24 to 48 hours
- Keep the skin hydrated and do not pick or scratch as it flakes
- Complete the full course of sessions for the best results
