How does Polynucleotides work
The polynucleotide gel is injected into or just beneath the skin across the treatment area. Once in place it supports the activity of skin cells and fibroblasts, encouraging repair, better hydration and gradual improvement in elasticity and firmness. Because it works by stimulating your own skin over time, results build across a course of sessions rather than appearing instantly.
Polynucleotides support the skin's own repair machinery:
- Cellular repair — provide building blocks that support skin cell renewal
- Fibroblast stimulation — encourage the cells that produce collagen and elastin
- Deep hydration — improve the skin's ability to hold moisture
- Anti-inflammatory action — help calm and improve the skin's overall environment

Patient Journey
What to expect

Consultation
Every treatment begins with a consultation. Your practitioner assesses your skin quality and concerns, discusses whether polynucleotides or another treatment best suits your goals, reviews your medical history including any allergies to fish, and agrees a course before proceeding.

Preparation
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment
- Pause non-essential blood thinners for a few days where safe
- Tell your practitioner if you have a fish allergy, as the product is often fish-derived
- Arrive with clean skin, free of make-up
- Avoid other facial treatments in the days beforehand

Treatment
After cleansing and applying numbing cream, the polynucleotide product is injected across the treatment area using a fine needle, with a series of small injections placed evenly. You may feel brief pinches and mild pressure. The appointment usually takes around thirty minutes. Small bumps at the injection points are normal at first and settle within hours to a day. Aftercare advice is provided before you leave.
